You can now easily add Ixquick to your list of Icecat search engines. Search engines appear in the drop-down menu next to the search bar inside your Icecat browser.

You can now easily add Ixquick to your list of SeaMonkey search engines. Search engines appear in the drop-down menu of sidebar when clicked on "Search" button next to the address bar inside your SeaMonkey browser.

You can now easily add Ixquick to your list of Internet Explorer 7+ (IE7+) search providers. Search providers appear in the drop-down menu next to the search bar inside your IE7+ browser.

You can now easily add Ixquick to your list of Google Chrome search engines. During installation, you would be asked for a keyword that you have to use with your search terms. You may choose your keyword as 'ixquick.com' and name as 'Ixquick'.

Use HTTPS - more private but slightly slower

After installing, choose Ixquick from the search box's drop-down menu. Now you're ready to search: just enter a search term and press Enter!

After installation you can set Ixquick as your default search engine as follows:

1. Click the wrench menu icon, located in the top right corner of the browser.
2. Select "Options".
3. Click the "Basics" tab.
4. Click on the "Manage" button in the "Default search" section.
5. Click on the Ixquick entry and click "Make Default".
6. Click "Close".

To search, just enter a search term in the address bar and hit [enter].

If you decide not to make Ixquick your default search engine, you need to enter 'ixquick.com -your search term-'.

To set Ixquick as your default search engine, please follow these instructions.

1. Go to the Chrome Preferences.
2. Click the "Basics" tab.
3. Click on the "Manage" button in the "Default search" section.
4. Click on + to add a new search engine.
5. Fill in:
   • Name: Ixquick
   • Keyword: ixquick.com
   • URL: http://ixquick.com/do/metasearch.pl?query=%s&cat=web&pl=chrome&language=english
   • and click on "OK"
6. If you wish to make Ixquick the default search engine, click on "Make Default" at the bottom of the Preferences window.
7. Close window.

To search, just enter a search term in the address bar and hit [enter].

Or go to the SeaMonkey Preferences => Category "Navigator" => Internet Search => Change the "default search engine" in the drop down menu to "Ixquick".

CAUTION: You are presently using Firefox 1.5 or older which does not support the more private "POST" search option for this plugin. If this is a concern to you, please consider upgrading to a more recent version of Firefox.
